VANCOUVER, WA— Vancouver Victory FC are getting ready for their open tryouts to be held Saturday March 26 at Harmony Sports Complex.  Behind the scenes head coach Aaron Lewis has already been gathering a group of prospects from the college soccer scene.

“We are coordinating once again with Oregon State Beavers and their head coach Steve Simmons,” says Lewis. “We hope to continue having some talented OSU guys on the Victory roster.”

Midfielder Alex Segovia (OSU) is one player that V2FC are planning to have return. He performed well for the Victory last season and scored a memorable half-volley goal along the way.

Lewis is also keeping in contact with Concordia University in Portland (head coach Dan Birkey), where the Cavaliers are coming off of their jump-up season to NCAA II level in the GNAC. “We have a handful of Concordia guys on our radar,” Lewis says, “including goalkeeper Arne Niermann, forward B.J. Romac, and a few others.”

Moving beyond the greater Vancouver area, the Victory are also hopeful of landing Gonzaga forward Christo Michaelson, who will be home in Lake Oswego for the summer.

Altogether the Victory have well over 20 college players that they are following with interest.
