Teams will look to open their season in early May, with tryouts happening later this month

Vancouver, Washington: With tryouts for the upcoming seasons right around the corner, the Vancouver Victory Men’s and Women’s teams are ready to build upon their past successes while also preparing for new challenges.

This summer will mark the women’s team’s first season in the Cascadia Premier League (CPL) 1st division. They’ll be competing in the Hood Division of the league, and will play against teams from all across Oregon and Washington. This will be a new challenge for the Victory Women, having spent the last six seasons in the NW Premier League. Back at the helm for the women’s team is Coach Maddy Wright, who is coming off a successful season coaching at Clark College. She had this to say when asked about the upcoming season:

“I love the vision to be Clark County’s, and all zip codes in between, choice for player development and competition. I believe this is a place where we can pursue excellence while also fostering an environment focused on character development. Our success will not only be measured in wins and losses, but also by the way we contribute and influence our community and young girls looking up to us in a positive way. I am excited to get started and to lead this team to the top of the Cascadia Premier League!”

The Victory Men, under the new guidance of Coaches Jeff Lukowiak and Assistant Timur Zhividze, will look to continue to be a staple of the Evergreen Premier League. As they prepare to compete in the league’s 10th Anniversary season, they’ll be looking to improve on last season’s 3-4-3 record. They’ll be competing against the likes of Bellingham United, OlyPen Force, Everett Jets, and other teams across Oregon and Washington.

Tryouts for the women’s team will take place on April 16 from 4-6 pm at Harmony Sports Complex, with the men’s tryout occurring on April 23 from 8 am-12 pm at Harmony Sports Complex.
